final proposal

For my final I wanted to pick a song and illustrate that song using five pictures. The primary song that I am looking to use is the song Airplanes by B.o.B. The song itself is a hard song to photograph which presents difficulty in itself. There are about 3 pictures that I can take using this song. I have plans to use some of my friends as models for some of the pictures. Some quotes that I would use from the song are, “I go back to a place much simpler than this,” “There comes a time where you fade to the blackness and when you’re staring at your phone in your lap,” “Can we pretend that airplanes in the night sky are like shooting stars?” Those are the 3 quotes that I was able to take away from that song. If it is possible, because I have only 3 pictures for the other song, there is another song called Watching Airplanes by Gary Allen that I would like to use alongside the other song for the last 2 pictures that need to be taken alongside the others. Two quotes that I pulled from that song are “Sitting on the hood of this truck looking at a caramel colored sunset sky,” and “Well those runway lights are getting brighter. I’m just sitting out here watching airplanes take off and fly.” I picked this other song because it has the airplane reference, and I feel as if this is something different than I usually do. Its giving me the opportunity to photograph something unusual for me.

Of course with any photography assignment, trying to get the material itself to photograph is a task in itself. I chose the song because not only do I personally like, but it is challenging not only to get good quality pictures, but having not been from this area, trying to find locations to go to and take pictures. This little “road bump” has forced me already to research and talk to people from the area. I know where there is an airport that I can go to, and it’s just a matter of how close I can get to the runway. I have a friend who has a car that can be used and she has no problem participating if need be. Also my plans for taking these pictures obviously involve editing at the end. I have some ideas with editing I want to run with, and getting them to work out the way that I would like to could present difficulty. Of course I also have other ideas in case this one is not improved. I have a few backup plans.
